The Advocate Program is a private, not-for-profit, community justice agency. The Program offers supervision services, educational classes and counseling groups to a wide variety of referral sources.
Employees and clients of the Advocate Program shall not block or obstruct any of the entries, passages, doors, elevators, elevator doors, hallways or stairways of building or parking facilities, or place, empty or throw any rubbish, litter, trash or material of any nature in such area, or permit such areas to be used at any time except, for entry or exit of employees or clients. Failure on the part of employees or clients of the Advocate Program to comply with the above Building Rules and Regulations will result in denial of access to the building, as well as removal from premises, if necessary.
1. All DIVERSION clients are tentatively accepted into the program until the final acceptance from the StateAttorney’s office is received. Any pending, existing, or new charges may make you ineligible to participate atany time.
2. You will be required to pay the supervision fee associated with your program. You may be required to attend aseries of group meetings, class sessions, and/or treatment. The exact conditions of your program will bedetermined at the initial interview.
3. You may be required to report with your case manager in person on a monthly basis unless otherwise specified. Accommodations for virtual reporting are available.
4. You may be required to submit to drug testing at any time while in the program. You are responsible for anypayments associated with this requirement.
I understand that I have been tentatively accepted as a participant in the ADVOCATE PROGRAM and that the charges against me will not be prosecuted as long as I am a Program participant in good standing and that my case will not come to trial during that time.
I understand further that I have the right to have my case brought to trial under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.191 within one hundred and seventy-five (175) days if a felony and ninety (90) days if a misdemeanor.
In order to participate in the ADVOCATE PROGRAM, I do hereby freely and voluntarily waive my right to a speedy trial pursuant to the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure, Florida Constitution and United States Constitution. I understand that if I violate the rules of the ADVOCATE PROGRAM which have been explained to me, and to which I have agreed, my case will be returned to court for prosecution. I also understand that the State Attorney may reject my participation at any time and return my case to court for prosecution if they find that I am not eligible for participation based on my arrest and/or driving record. In addition, in the event a victim or police officer in my case presents a reasonable basis for objecting to my participation, the State Attorney may return my case for prosecution.
